Centre Clears ₹8,970 Crore Guwahati-Tezpur Corridor

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has cleared the construction of a 135.871-km, four-lane access-controlled highway connecting Guwahati and Tezpur in Assam. Estimated at ₹8,970.20 crore, the National Highway-15 project will be executed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) toll model via the National Highways (Original) programme. Once completed, the corridor is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity, travel efficiency, and economic growth across the Northeast.
