The Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar corridor of Pune Metro Line 3 will be virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 3. Spanning 23.3 km, the project is being executed by PMRDA under a public-private partnership (PPP) framework to enhance transit between Hinjewadi’s IT district and central Pune while alleviating urban traffic congestion.
To date, the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) has granted clearance for 17 out of the line's 23 stations, with safety inspections for two additional stations near Balewadi completed and final approvals anticipated shortly. Additionally, MahaMetro officials indicated that the groundbreaking ceremony for Pune Metro Phase 2 will take place during the same program.
