On August 10, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Yellow Line of Bangalore Metro Phase-2, connecting RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra. The 19-km corridor, built at a cost of approximately ₹7,160 crore, features 16 stations and significantly enhances urban mobility in southern Bengaluru.
With this addition, Bengaluru’s operational metro network now exceeds 96 km, improving connectivity across key residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for Bangalore Metro Phase-3, a ₹15,610 crore project spanning 44 km with 31 elevated stations. Designed to address the city’s growing transport demands, Phase-3 will extend metro access to more residential and employment hubs.
In addition, PM Modi flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains—Bengaluru–Belagavi, Amritsar–Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Nagpur (Ajni)–Pune. These high-speed trains are set to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and offer a modern, world-class passenger experience.
