BEL Powers Up: New 210 KWp Solar Milestone at Bengaluru.

Bharat Electronics (BEL) has reached a major sustainability milestone with the commissioning of a 210 KWp rooftop solar power plant (RTSSP) at its Bengaluru complex.

This addition increases BEL’s total rooftop solar capacity to 2.6 MWp, making it the first defence public sector undertaking (PSU) in India to achieve RE100 status, meeting 100 percent of its electricity requirements through renewable energy. BEL’s renewable energy journey began in 2012 with a 30 KWp installation and has steadily expanded its green footprint over the years.

As part of its ambition to become a Net Zero company, BEL continues to set benchmarks for environmental responsibility within India’s defence and manufacturing sectors.
