State-owned Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has initiated an investment of over ₹562 crore in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor with the allotment of 75 hectares of land in the Chitrakoot node. The company plans to set up an advanced manufacturing facility focused on producing modern radar and air defence systems.
The corridor has attracted investments exceeding ₹34,000 crore so far, with around ₹12,000 crore already disbursed across its six nodes—Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, and Lucknow. Officials noted that at least 62 companies have been allotted land across these locations for manufacturing and testing facilities.
Key participants in the corridor include BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited, Adani Defence and Aerospace, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, Werywin Defence Limited, Nitya Creations, Sankalp Safety, and Amitec Electronics Limited.
Yogi Adityanath handed over the land allotment letter to Manoj Jain, emphasizing Chitrakoot’s strategic location and logistical advantages for the upcoming facility.
