Atmakur’s Makeover: ₹144.50 Crore in Projects Underway

Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy has outlined ongoing initiatives to strengthen irrigation facilities and accelerate development works in the Atmakur Assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh.

Repairs are underway at five lift irrigation schemes to ensure water supply reaches tail-end agricultural lands, benefiting farmers and improving crop productivity. In addition, development projects worth ₹144.50 crore are being implemented through Panchayat Raj institutions. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, works valued at ₹19 crore covering 76 projects are in progress, with tenders being invited for additional schemes. Overall, ₹65 crore has been sanctioned for 336 development activities across the constituency.

On 28 December 2025, the Minister laid foundation stones and inaugurated a completed cement concrete (CC) road connecting to Vasili village. He noted that 761 development works worth ₹50.72 crore are currently underway, including a ₹69.30 lakh drinking water project in the Vasili SC Colony. Despite the state facing a financial burden of ₹1.40 lakh crore, the Minister emphasised that the government continues to fund major welfare initiatives such as the Super Six schemes, NTR Bharosa social pensions, and new LPG gas connections, underscoring its commitment to balanced rural and social development.
