Athulya’s Next Move: $30M Raise and a New Geriatric Hospital

Athulya Senior Care is set to expand into full-spectrum geriatric healthcare with the launch of its first hospital in Chennai, alongside plans to raise around $30 million to support its next phase of growth.

Currently focused on assisted living and home care services, the company will enter the hospital segment through a fully integrated geriatric care facility in Vadapalani, Chennai, scheduled to open in June. The move marks a significant milestone in Athulya’s strategy to build a comprehensive senior care ecosystem.

Karthik Narayan said the company is expected to approach investors for a funding round within the next three months, with the capital raise aimed at accelerating expansion and supporting its long-term path toward a potential public listing. He added that the company expects interest from global institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, due to their increasing focus on social impact sectors such as senior care.

The planned fundraising comes after Athulya Senior Care secured nearly ₹100 crore in funding from a Morgan Stanley-managed private equity fund in 2023.
