Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister A. Ramnarayan Reddy has announced that the state government has sanctioned ₹813 crore for the restoration and development of 692 neglected ancient temples across the state under the Sarvasreyonidhi scheme.
Speaking at a press conference at the State Secretariat, the minister highlighted the achievements of the Endowments Department over the past two years under the TDP-led government. He stated that the initiative aims to preserve Andhra Pradesh's rich religious and cultural heritage by reviving temples that have remained neglected for decades.
“We have created history by allotting ₹813 crore under Sarvasreyonidhi to develop 692 neglected ancient temples,” Reddy said.
The restoration programme will focus on improving temple infrastructure, enhancing pilgrim amenities, and conserving historically significant places of worship. The government believes the project will strengthen heritage preservation efforts while promoting spiritual tourism across the state.
According to the minister, the initiative reflects the government's commitment to safeguarding ancient temples and ensuring their sustainable development for future generations.
