AP’s Aerospace Leap: ₹500 Cr Invested in Drones & Flight Training

Andhra Pradesh’s aviation and drone technology ecosystem is set for a major expansion, with two leading companies proposing a combined investment of ₹500 crore.

Delhi-based KNOTS Aerospace plans to invest ₹100 crore over the next five years to establish a state-of-the-art Flight Training Organisation (FTO) at Nagarjuna Sagar or Kurnool Airport. The facility will scale its fleet from six to 20 training aircraft, training commercial pilots to global standards while creating approximately 100 direct jobs.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad-based GGF Astraa Analytica has requested 100 acres in Kurnool Drone City for a ₹400-crore drone cluster. Supported by technical expertise from London and Singapore, the firm will focus on drone research, manufacturing, testing, and incubation. In addition to long-term development, GGF Astraa Analytica has offered to deploy smart drone solutions for crowd control, traffic management, and CCTV surveillance during the Godavari Pushkarams.

Government officials have pledged complete support for both initiatives, marking another milestone in the state's push toward advanced technology and aerospace development.
