AP & UK Join Forces: A Green Leap for Urban Infrastructure

The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated strategic partnership discussions with the United Kingdom to strengthen cooperation across urban infrastructure, energy, mobility, and sustainable development sectors.

The high-level meeting focused on attracting global investments, advanced technologies, and innovative financing models to support the state’s long-term infrastructure development agenda. The UK delegation was led by Chaz Walia and Gareth Wynn Owen, while the discussions were chaired by S Suresh Kumar.

Senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), AGICL, and APADCL also participated in the discussions.

Key areas identified for collaboration included power generation and transmission, green mobility, sustainable urban transport systems, riverfront development, sports infrastructure, and district cooling systems aimed at improving urban energy efficiency. The UK delegation also highlighted exchange finance frameworks and public-private partnership models as potential funding mechanisms for large-scale infrastructure projects.

The Andhra Pradesh government reiterated its commitment to developing sustainable infrastructure and strengthening institutional and knowledge partnerships to position the state as a preferred destination for international investment and technology collaboration.
