Amber to Invest ₹800 Crore in Mysuru Copper Laminate Plant

Delhi-based publicly listed electronics manufacturer Amber Enterprises will invest over Rs 800 crore to establish a copper laminate production facility in Mysuru, Karnataka, with the total investment potentially reaching Rs 900 crore. The company has sought 16 acres from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority and is applying under the Centre’s Electronic Components and Modules Scheme (ECMS), which provides capex and employment-linked incentives to boost domestic manufacturing.

Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge confirmed full state-level support for the project, noting Mysuru’s strategic importance as part of the Chief Minister’s constituency and its inclusion in the proposed Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) cluster. The state has offered multiple land parcels and additional incentives as a top-up to the central scheme.

This Mysuru facility will complement Amber’s broader expansion strategy, which includes a Rs 3,200 crore investment in an electronics manufacturing unit near Noida International Airport, focused on high-density interfaces, PCBs, and consumer electronics like laptops and semiconductors.

Additionally, Amber’s subsidiary Ascent Circuits is investing Rs 990 crore in a 12.37-acre PCB plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, slated for commissioning by 2026. These projects are part of Amber’s alignment with the national objective under ECMS to position India as a global electronics manufacturing hub, particularly in critical components and sub-assemblies.
