Amazon Boosts India Ops with ₹2,000 Crore Logistics Push

Amazon has announced a ₹2,000 crore (approximately USD 233 million) investment in India in 2025 to bolster its logistics and delivery infrastructure. The capital will be used to expand fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and delivery stations nationwide, enhancing Amazon India's operational reach and efficiency.

The investment also includes upgrades to existing facilities, incorporating advanced automation, energy-efficient cooling systems, improved safety protocols, and inclusive infrastructure such as accessible rest areas for delivery personnel, including those with disabilities.

“Over the past decade, we’ve built one of India’s most extensive logistics infrastructures,” said Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations, Amazon India. “This fresh investment is part of our long-term commitment to improve delivery speed, enhance safety, and support the people who power our network.”

Aligned with its broader strategy to enhance delivery speed and reliability, especially across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, Amazon aims to boost fulfilment capacity, streamline operations through automation, and improve customer experience. The initiative is also expected to generate employment, support small and medium businesses, and further solidify India’s role as a key market in Amazon’s global growth strategy.
