The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the construction of a new Raj Bhavan complex in Amaravati, marking a significant step in the development of the state’s capital region.
With an estimated cost of ₹212 crore, the complex will be located along the riverbank and will include the Governor’s mansion, a ceremonial Durbar Hall, and administrative office space, along with comprehensive residential and support facilities. The project will feature two guest houses, six officer quarters, 10 senior staff quarters, 12 junior staff quarters, 40 support staff quarters, and barracks with 20 rooms accommodating up to 144 personnel.
Planned as an RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) structure, the complex will integrate advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure efficiency and sustainability. A secure perimeter wall with four sentry posts will enhance site security.
Recently approved by both the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and the State Cabinet, the Raj Bhavan is envisioned as both a symbolic and functional landmark—serving the Governor’s ceremonial, administrative, and official roles—while reinforcing Amaravati’s status as the administrative capital of Andhra Pradesh.
