Amaravati Phase II: 16,000-Acre Land Pool Approved.

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the second phase of land pooling for the development of Amaravati, paving the way for acquiring more than 16,000 acres to accelerate major infrastructure projects.

Municipal Minister P. Narayana said the pooled land from seven villages will facilitate construction of the inner ring road (IRR), a new railway station, railway lines, and an expanded international sports city. Of the 16,666 acres identified, 7,562 acres will come from Vaikuntapuram, Pedda Madduru, Endrai, and Karlapudi, while 9,104.57 acres will be sourced from Vaddamanuru, Harishchandrapuram, and Peddaparimi. He also noted that 3,828 acres of government land are available, though much of it is hilly. A 30-year action plan has been drafted to meet evolving urban and lifestyle needs.

The sports city, originally allotted just 70 acres, will now extend across 2,500 acres to host major international sporting events. Farmers participating in the pooling programme will receive residential and commercial plots, along with lease payments.
