Alpex Solar Scales Up: 2.2 GW TOPCon Facility Set for ALMM Approval

Alpex Solar has submitted an application to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to include its new 2.2 GW TOPCon G12R solar cell manufacturing facility in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II. Located in Kosi Kotwan, Mathura, the state-of-the-art facility was completed in a record 15 months and is scheduled to begin commercial production in August 2026. This addition significantly bolsters the company’s domestic manufacturing output. Looking ahead, Alpex Solar aims to achieve greater vertical integration by establishing a 5 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing plant by 2030. The company attributes its sustained growth to strong operational execution, high capacity utilization, and a robust order book, positioning it well to meet the surging demand for indigenous solar components under India’s clean energy mandates.
