The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is set to open the link road connecting the Bawa White House area in Phase 11 to Airport Road by June 15, marking a significant improvement in regional connectivity.
GMADA officials have indicated that the remaining construction work, including the completion of a section of the bridge and final road surfacing, is progressing as planned and is expected to be finished within the stipulated timeline. Once operational, the corridor will support two-way traffic flow, easing travel for commuters moving between Mohali and Chandigarh International Airport.
At present, motorists are navigating temporary traffic arrangements and diversions around the construction zone while work continues on the bridge structure and approach roads. Despite weather-related disruptions caused by recent rainfall, construction activities have advanced steadily toward completion.
The new link road is expected to alleviate congestion along Airport Road, particularly at key intersections and commercial hubs. By providing a direct connection between Balongi and Airport Road, the project will reduce travel times, enhance accessibility for local residents, and create an efficient alternative route to the airport.
