Adilabad Airfield: Telangana’s ₹2,278 Crore Mega Push

In a major push for north Telangana's regional growth, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced administrative sanction for the ₹2,278 crore Adilabad Joint User Airfield project. Spanning 2,009 acres, the development will be shared between the Indian Air Force (1,609 acres) and a commercial civil aviation hub (400 acres) equipped with MRO facilities, cargo infrastructure, and hangars.

The state government is absorbing all expenses related to land acquisition and essential utility shifts (power transmission lines, water pipelines, and roadways), targeting completion of these preliminary works by December 31, 2026. The project is expected to generate thousands of jobs while enhancing industrial logistics, tourism, and defense readiness.
