Adani Green Energy Limited will develop the 2,250 MW Gandikota-2 Pumped Storage Project in Andhra Pradesh after the state government allocated the project in YSR Kadapa district to Adani Hydro Energy Eleven Limited.
The project is expected to reinforce Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a major clean energy and energy storage hub and will be implemented under the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024.
The Gandikota-2 project is set to become one of India’s largest pumped storage facilities and is expected to play a critical role in the state’s long-term power infrastructure strategy. The project is aimed at supporting grid stability, balancing intermittent renewable power generation and improving the integration of solar and wind energy into the electricity network as clean energy demand continues to rise.
