French hospitality leader Accor is ramping up its presence in India, launching an ambitious multi-brand expansion to tap into the country’s dynamic and fragmented travel market. With 71 hotels already operating across India—including 30 in partnership with InterGlobe Hotels—Accor is doubling down on its commitment to the region.
The brand’s stronghold in the mid-market space is led by 25 Ibis hotels, offering around 4,600 rooms. Looking ahead, Accor has 40 new hotels in its development pipeline, signaling long-term confidence in India’s booming travel sector.
This week, the Group unveiled a new 440-room Fairmont in Mumbai, strengthening its foothold in the luxury segment. The same complex will also feature a 110-room Morgan Originals property, showcasing Accor’s push to diversify its offerings for Indian travelers.
“We’re adding more brands. You’ll see a major rollout of Ennismore, the Handwritten Collection, and the MGallery Collection,” said Sébastien Bazin, Accor’s Chairman and CEO, underlining the company’s strategy to bring more experiential and lifestyle-focused stays to India.
New entrants like Ennismore, Morgan Originals, the Handwritten Collection, and MGallery are tailored to appeal to India’s rising Gen Z and millennial travelers who crave boutique, design-forward experiences.
By broadening its brand portfolio and expanding across all segments—from economy to luxury—Accor is positioning itself to lead in India’s fast-evolving hospitality landscape. The move also reflects a growing shift toward hybrid and lifestyle-driven hospitality models that resonate with the modern traveler.
