Bid Now: GMR Kamalanga Invites Proposals for 350 MW Unit

GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd. (GKEL)—a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) promoted by GMR Energy, part of the GMR Group—has invited bids for the development of a 1x350 MW extension unit as the fourth unit of its existing Kamalanga thermal power project in Dhenkanal district, Odisha.

The scope of work covers the design, engineering, manufacturing, factory testing, supply, and supervision of erection and commissioning of both the Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) and Balance of Plant (BOP) packages. It also includes the design and supply of critical infrastructure such as the switchyard, induced draft cooling towers, wagon tippler system with associated ancillaries including railway track infrastructure, and the transmission system.

GKEL has already developed a 3x350 MW coal-fired thermal power plant in Kamalanga village, with all three existing units operational since April 30, 2013, November 12, 2013, and March 25, 2014, respectively. The proposed fourth unit is scheduled for completion within 24 months from the project’s zero date.

This expansion marks a significant step in GMR Group’s continued contribution to India’s thermal power capacity and infrastructure development.
