Banganga Paper Mills, a subsidiary of Banganga Paper Industries, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Livint Green Technologies to procure solar energy under a captive power generation model.
As part of the agreement, Livint Green Technologies will develop, own, and operate a 2.5 MW DC ground-mounted solar power plant in Karjat Village, Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. This plant will supply clean, cost-effective, and reliable renewable energy to Banganga Paper Mills’ Nashik facility.
To comply with captive power regulations, Banganga Paper Mills will hold a 26% equity stake in the power-producing entity, while Livint Green Technologies will retain 74%. Additionally, through a Wheeling and Banking Agreement, excess power will be stored with the state’s power distribution company for future use, allowing Banganga Paper Mills to leverage carbon credits.
Banganga Paper Mills operates a 10,000+ sq. m facility in Dindori, Nashik, with an installed production capacity exceeding 100 TPD. By integrating renewable energy, the company is reducing its carbon footprint and supporting global sustainability efforts. This initiative underscores Banganga Paper Industries’ commitment to eco-friendly manufacturing in the kraft paper industry.
