Ponda–Bhoma Highway: Claims Open for New ₹273Cr Expansion

The Special Land Acquisition Officer of the Public Works Department (PWD) has invited compensation claims from landowners affected by the widening of the Ponda–Bhoma highway.

Officials stated that an additional 46,308 square metres of land has been acquired for the project, with a formal notification issued for areas in Priol, Veling, Kunkoliem, and Kundaim villages.

According to Special Land Acquisition Officer Suraj Ghaisas, landowners who submit their claims will be included in the valuation award list, which will also factor in compensation for trees marked for removal.

The project includes the construction of a six-lane flyover between the Dilasa Palliative Care Centre and the Farmagudi traffic police station, while the remaining stretch will be developed as a four-lane road.

Planned infrastructure also includes 60-metre-wide underpasses at the Mardol and Mangueshi junctions, a 20-metre underpass near Vaishali Hotel in Kundaim, and a vehicular overpass at the roundabout near the GVM’s College complex.

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has awarded the ₹273 crore contract to Gurugram-based GeetAsia; however, the formal work order is still awaited.
