On 26 November 2025, Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy laid the foundation stone for a Rs 50 crore road project within the Nalgonda Municipal limits.
The project includes the construction of a four-lane road with a central median and lighting, extending from Nagarjunasagar ‘X’ Roads to the Darveshipuram Yellamma Temple on the Mahbubnagar–Nalgonda route. Work is expected to begin within a week. Highlighting the need for improved safety in the accident-prone Darveshipuram area, the Minister noted that a CC road, central lighting, and a median have already been built there at a cost of Rs 12 crore.
He added that several internal roads, including the Kothapalli–Musumpalli stretch, along with rural roads and drainage systems, are being upgraded. Additionally, Rs 450 crore has been allocated for canal lining under the AMRP to strengthen irrigation infrastructure. Major arterial roads in Nalgonda have also been upgraded with medians and lighting, and work on the town’s bypass road is underway to improve traffic flow.
