Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has announced that the Centre has approved 42 road projects for Karnataka in collaboration with the state government. Of these, 27 projects have received full clearance from the state—including land acquisition and handover to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)—while clearances for the remaining 15 are pending but expected to be finalized soon.
Speaking at a media event in Belagavi, the Minister noted that a previously withdrawn project—originally announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari—will now be funded by the state government, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah set to lay the foundation stone in October.
He also provided updates on key infrastructure and development initiatives, including the Belagavi-Dharwad railway line, the Belagavi Ring Road, a Rs 10 crore sports complex, a new government hospital, and the sanctioning of 257 new Anganwadi centers.
