The East Coast Railway has invited bids for a major infrastructure package under the Koraput–Singapur Road Doubling Project in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at enhancing rail capacity and operational efficiency in the region.
Valued at ₹383.36 crore, the contract involves the construction of six tunnels—T5 & T6, T7, T8, T9 & T10, T11, and T12—along with associated illumination and allied works. The project is located between Tikiri (km 83.065) and Rauli (km 95.250) stations, covering a vital stretch for improved connectivity in eastern India.
To be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis, the project is designed to support faster train operations and enhance freight handling capabilities. It forms part of Indian Railways’ broader initiative to modernize critical corridors, ease network congestion, and meet the increasing demand for both passenger and goods transport.
The completion period is 30 months, and the deadline for bid submission is 31 October 2025.
