Solapur-Tuljapur Rail: $3,295 Cr. for 2028 Finish

The Maharashtra State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved a revised budget of ₹3,295.7 crore for the Solapur–Tuljapur–Dharashiv railway project, spanning 84.4 km.

Under the revised plan, the state government will contribute 50% of the total project cost. The new railway line is expected to significantly improve connectivity to Tuljapur, a prominent pilgrimage destination, benefiting devotees and travelers from multiple states. Implemented under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, the project aims to strengthen connectivity between Marathwada and Western Maharashtra.

An earlier approval, issued on 10 February 2023, had sanctioned ₹452.6 crore as part of the initial project cost. The revised budget reflects increased expenditure due to updated cost assessments. Construction, which commenced in December 2023, is scheduled for completion by March 2028.
