Shaping the Future of Travel: Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR Updates

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor has achieved significant construction milestones as of August 2026, according to the latest update from the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL). Civil construction is moving forward rapidly across all sections, laying the foundation for India's inaugural high-speed rail network.

Notable structural achievements include the completion of 365 km of viaducts, 455 km of piers, 15 steel bridges, and 17 river bridges. Furthermore, tunneling efforts have crossed major milestones with four mountain tunnels fully excavated and an additional 5 km completed via the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). As civil engineering works advance, parallel progress is being recorded in track laying and electrification systems to ensure the corridor meets operational readiness standards.
