Pune Metro Line 3: Just a Stop Away from July Launch

The much-anticipated launch of Pune Metro Line 3 is expected to be pushed to July 2026, missing its previously targeted mid-June deadline. The 23-km elevated metro corridor, connecting Hinjawadi's Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park with Shivajinagar, aims to provide faster, more efficient transit and ease daily commutes for thousands of passengers.

Most civil and system-related work on the first operational stretch between Maan and Ramnagar (Baner), which includes 12 stations, has been completed. According to project officials, over 95% of the construction work is finished. However, passenger services can only begin after the project secures mandatory clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has already requested the required inspection. Following the safety assessment and approval process, authorities will finalize the inauguration schedule and commence commercial operations.
