Namma Metro Alert: Pink Line RDSO Trials Starting Soon!

The much-anticipated Pink Line of Namma Metro is set to move closer to launch, with trials by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation likely to begin before the end of this month, according to officials. The corridor is being developed by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited and is targeting a phased rollout starting in 2026.

A BMRCL official noted that a few formalities remain before inspections can begin, adding that the RDSO trial process itself is expected to take at least two weeks.

RDSO trials are mandatory for metro systems across India, serving as crucial safety and performance evaluations to ensure that trains and infrastructure meet required operational standards before public use.

The 21-km Pink Line corridor includes a 13-km underground stretch connecting Dairy Circle to Nagawara. The elevated section between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere is expected to become operational by mid-2026, while the full corridor is scheduled for completion by December 2026.

So far, four trainsets have been delivered to BMRCL by Bharat Earth Movers Limited, with initial operations on the elevated stretch expected to begin using four to five trainsets.
