Land acquisition is officially complete for the 84-km Manikpur-Iradatganj third line rail project in Prayagraj, UP.
Following a final gazette notification by the Ministry of Railways, 36.68 hectares (3,66,877 sq. mtrs.) of land have been transferred clear of encumbrances to the Central Government. The Rs 1,640-crore project, slated for completion in four years, encompasses the construction of essential bridges and underpasses.
With the current Iradatganj-Manikpur double-line corridor running at more than 150% capacity and severely bottlenecking regional travel, this expansion aims to dramatically cut down transit delays and improve overall freight and passenger movement.
