Eastern Railway is investing approximately ₹12,000 crore over the next four to five years to expand its route capacity. Announced by General Manager Gitika Pandey at the CII Rail Synergy & Bengal MSME Vendor Connect Summit 2026, these infrastructure projects are designed to strengthen the regional network and efficiently accommodate growing passenger and freight traffic.
