Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Clears Major Safety Milestone!

Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has completed the statutory safety inspection of the 7.5-km elevated section of the Pink Line, bringing the corridor closer to opening for passenger services.

The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), Southern Circle, V Venkatasubramanian, led the inspection of the stretch between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere, covering tracks, trains and supporting infrastructure. The section comprises six stations, including Kalena Agrahara, IIM Bengaluru and Tavarekere.

Ahead of the inspection, BMRCL secured a speed certificate from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in August 2026, followed by provisional rolling stock sanction from the Railway Board.

The inspection marks a key milestone towards commissioning the elevated corridor, which is expected to strengthen metro connectivity across southern Bengaluru.
