Godawari Power & Ispat (GPIL) has officially commenced commercial operations of its new 6.91 MW waste heat recovery-based power plant at its integrated steel facility in Siltara, Raipur.
Commissioned on June 23, 2026, the plant represents a major milestone in GPIL’s sustainability and capacity expansion goals. By capturing and converting flue gases from the Pellet Plant and Ferro Alloys Division into electricity, the facility significantly boosts energy efficiency while reducing reliance on external grid power. First announced in April 2026, the project’s rapid, on-time execution highlights GPIL's strong operational focus. Strategically located within the existing manufacturing complex, the plant is set to optimize resource utilization and lower overall production costs across the steel manufacturing chain.
