Noida to Get Smart Grid with ₹1,313 Crore RDSS Investment

Noida’s power infrastructure is set for a major overhaul under the Centre-state joint Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and SCADA control initiative, with a ₹1,313 crore investment plan approved.

The modernization project will be implemented in two phases by 2027, focusing on upgrading the city’s ageing electricity network. Key components include laying underground high-tension (33kV) and low-tension (11kV) cables, setting up new substations, and strengthening existing ones.

A centralized control room in Sector 62 will enable real-time monitoring and management of the entire power distribution system.

Noida currently operates 550 km of 33kV lines and 1,601 km of 11kV lines. These will be interconnected to create a resilient grid, allowing substations to serve as backups for one another in case of outages—ensuring continuity of supply.

Officials say the scheme will pave the way for seamless, reliable, and future-ready power delivery across the city.
