Adani Secures Key ₹1,663 Cr. Maharashtra Power Line

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), in an order dated 24 October 2025, has granted a 25-year transmission licence to WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission, a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions (AESL).

The licence is linked to an Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) scheme and will remain valid unless revoked earlier. AESL secured the project through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route, with a bid of ₹2,214.45 million per year. The project, titled “Network expansion scheme in Western Region to cater to pumped storage potential near Talegaon (Pune),” has an estimated cost of ₹1,663 crore, with completion scheduled for 1 January 2028.

The scheme includes the construction of a 765/400 kV substation in Maharashtra, which will play a crucial role in transmitting green energy to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
