Beyond Gigawatts: AGEL's 30% Capacity Boost Fuels Sustainable Growth

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has posted strong performance in FY25, increasing its operational renewable energy capacity by 30% year-on-year to 14.2 GW. This includes a record-setting greenfield addition of 3.3 GW—the largest ever by any renewable energy developer in India—contributing 16% of the country's utility-scale solar and 14% of wind capacity additions for the year.

Energy sales for FY25 reached 27,969 million units, representing a 28% year-on-year increase. In Q4 FY25, AGEL achieved a high solar Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 32.4%, enabled by advanced technologies such as bifacial n-type modules, horizontal single-axis trackers (HSAT), and waterless robotic cleaning systems.

Executive Director Sagar Adani highlighted, “We are playing a pivotal role in India’s renewable energy growth, which is evident from our historic 3.3 GW greenfield capacity addition in FY25.”

AGEL also achieved water positivity across its operational portfolio ahead of its FY26 target, reinforcing its commitment to circular economy principles and ESG leadership.

Currently, AGEL is developing a landmark 30 GW renewable energy project in Khavda, Gujarat, spanning 538 sq. km—one of the largest of its kind globally—underscoring the company’s ambition to reshape India’s energy future through sustainable infrastructure.
