The Assam government has greenlit the ₹50,000 crore “Viksit Assam” initiative, a comprehensive economic development blueprint targeting public infrastructure, healthcare modernization, and clean-energy expansion. A key anchor of this package is a newly approved renewable energy park in the Goalpara district's Rakhyasini Jungle Block (Matia Revenue Circle). This integrated facility pairs a 30 MW solar generation plant with a 25 MW / 100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). While the overarching financial layout spans multiple public sectors—with specific individual project budgets yet to be revealed—the integration of advanced battery storage is designed to stabilize regional grid fluctuations and advance Assam's decarbonization goals. Successful execution hinges on forthcoming regulatory clearances, detailed sectoral allocations, and transparent tender processes.
