Deccan Gold Mines Limited (DGML) has reported a significant expansion of its Bhalukona Nickel-Copper-PGE Project in Chhattisgarh, following encouraging drilling results announced in May 2026.
The latest assay results have confirmed a broad mineralized corridor containing nickel, copper, and platinum group elements (PGEs), extending over approximately 430 metres and reaching depths beyond 200 metres. Importantly, drilling indicates that the mineralized system remains open along strike, with the potential to extend up to 1.3 kilometres, suggesting a substantially larger resource footprint than previously identified.
To date, the company has completed approximately 1,500 metres of diamond drilling across nine drill holes, with several assay results still awaited. Notable intersections include 15 metres grading 0.31% NiEq, 36 metres grading 0.23% NiEq, 6 metres grading 0.39% NiEq, and higher-grade zones returning up to 1.29% NiEq.
The Bhalukona–Jamnidih Composite Licence forms part of India’s broader strategy to develop domestic critical mineral resources that are essential for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced manufacturing industries.
The latest drilling results enhance DGML’s position within India’s emerging critical minerals sector and underscore the growing importance of nickel, copper, and PGEs in the global energy transition. With additional drilling and pending assay results expected to further define the scale and continuity of mineralization, the Bhalukona project continues to demonstrate strong long-term resource development and expansion potential.
