Coal India has commissioned a 100 MW solar power plant in Gujarat after receiving the commissioning certificate from Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).
The certificate, dated May 4, 2026, confirms that the solar project located at Bhadranmali is fully operational with effect from March 31, 2026. The commissioning of the project marks an important milestone in Coal India’s strategy to diversify beyond its core coal mining business and expand its presence in the renewable energy sector.
The solar power facility is expected to contribute to India’s growing renewable energy capacity and support the country’s broader energy transition and climate objectives. Through investments in clean energy infrastructure, Coal India aims to reduce reliance on conventional fossil fuels, lower carbon emissions, and strengthen its commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible energy development while continuing to play a major role in India’s energy sector.
