Powering J&K: NHPC Bids Open for 240 MW Uri-I Stage-II Hydro Project

NHPC Limited has invited bids for the Electro-Mechanical (E&M) works associated with the 240 MW Uri-I Stage-II hydroelectric project, located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The project is designed as a run-of-the-river scheme, featuring two generating units of 120 MW each (2x120 MW). The underground powerhouse will be situated on the left bank of the Jhelum River near Rajarwani.

The scope of work under the E&M Package, Lot-III, includes the design, manufacturing, quality assurance, shop assembly, testing, delivery to site, storage and preservation, installation, commissioning, performance testing, final handing over to the owner, and a two-year guarantee period.

The estimated cost of the work is ₹485.40 crore.

The deadline for bid submission is 30 July 2025.
