Australia-based Arvensis Group has announced plans to establish a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Andhra Pradesh, investing an estimated Rs 150 crore. The announcement was made on 1 May 2025 during a meeting in Tadepalli with Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar.
The proposed facility will have a daily production capacity of 12 to 20 tonnes and represents a major boost to the state’s renewable energy infrastructure. Minister Ravi Kumar welcomed the investment and reiterated the state government’s commitment to facilitating clean energy projects through a streamlined single-window clearance system.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strong renewable energy potential, the Minister assured full government support. Arvensis Group representatives expressed satisfaction with the discussions and confirmed that this CBG plant would be their first project in the region, marking the beginning of a long-term commitment to India’s renewable energy goals.
The Minister also emphasized the project's potential to generate direct and indirect employment for local youth and praised the company’s decision to invest in the state’s energy sector. Once operational, the plant is expected to enhance bio-energy capabilities and contribute significantly to Andhra Pradesh’s transition to cleaner fuels and sustainable industry development.
