Wilson Ship Management Welcomes First UCSL Dry Cargo Ship

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), Karnataka, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), recently marked a major milestone with the successful delivery of the first of six 3800 DWT dry cargo vessels to M/s. Wilson Ship Management AS, Norway, the largest short sea shipping operator in Europe. The delivery ceremony was held at New Mangalore Port.

During the event, Dr. Sushma Akkaraju, spouse of Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Chairman of the New Mangalore Port Authority, ceremonially christened the vessel. The event was graced by senior officials from the New Mangalore Port Authority, along with key representatives from Wilson Ship Management AS, including Mr. Einar Torsnes (Chief Financial Officer) and Mr. Sergey Bogdashov (New Build Superintendent), accompanied by their site team.

Also in attendance were Shri Harikumar A (CEO, UCSL) and members of the Udupi CSL team, Shri Sivaram N Swamy (General Manager - Business Development, CSL), and Mr. Eric Veith from Bureau Veritas.
