Gujarat is set to become a powerhouse of the maritime industry! The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has just greenlit two game-changing projects: a massive 2,000-acre shipbuilding cluster in Porbandar and a state-of-the-art ₹1,570 crore ship repair facility at Vadinar.
By scaling up domestic capacity for large commercial vessels, these projects will slash our dependence on overseas repair yards and turn India into a global shipbuilding leader. It’s a massive step forward for the "Make in India" initiative and the future of our maritime infrastructure.
