On June 3, 2025, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for six major development projects totaling approximately ₹100 crore in the Dehra assembly constituency of Kangra district.

Key among the initiatives was the inauguration of a ₹4.96 crore Community Health Centre (CHC) in Haripur, along with the foundation stone for a new administrative and diagnostic block at the facility. The Chief Minister also kick-started the construction of a ₹47.62 crore food commissary and quarantine center at the Durgesh Aranya Zoological Park.

Further, a Lift Water Supply Scheme (LWSS) for the upcoming International Zoo at Bankhandi (Seera Da Bharoh in Haripur tehsil) is set to be developed at a cost of ₹16.25 crore. Road connectivity in the region will be bolstered through the upgradation of the Haripur-Sakri Ghera road (₹12.87 crore), Thathar Tripal-Mehwa Panchayat road (₹6.64 crore), and Guler-Nandpur Barial Ludret road (₹10.29 crore).

While outlining progress on the ₹619 crore Durgesh Aranya Zoological Park, CM Sukhu highlighted that ₹150 crore is being utilized in the first phase to build 43 animal enclosures. He added that nearly 90% of the boundary wall has been completed, with eight check dams constructed and additional ones planned for rainwater harvesting, in line with the government's focus on sustainable development.
