Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), the manufacturer of the iconic Mysore Sandal Soap, is stepping up its global expansion strategy even as steady domestic demand continues to support strong financial performance.
The state-run enterprise plans to widen its international presence to 50 countries by March, doubling its reach from the current 25 markets, including the United States, Canada, and Australia. Currently, exports contribute only around 1 per cent of total revenue, signalling considerable scope for growth in overseas markets.
According to Managing Director Dr Prashanth PKM, the company has tripled its net profit over the past three years—from ₹182 crore to approximately ₹450 crore—and is aiming to achieve ₹500 crore in net profit by March 31, 2026.
KSDL’s renewed focus on exports is designed to capitalise on the strong brand recognition of Mysore Sandal Soap globally, while continuing to benefit from robust demand within India.
