Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently conducted a detailed review of ongoing development work at the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), a flagship project being developed as a major semiconductor manufacturing hub.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected key infrastructure projects, including the Smart City initiative being developed with world-class standards under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Officials reported that 95% of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway is complete, and essential infrastructure—roads, underground utilities, and plug-and-play facilities—are ready.
The review also covered completed utility infrastructure such as the water and sewage treatment plants, a common effluent treatment plant, ICT facilities, and a 300 MW solar park that will supply clean energy to the area.
CM Patel also assessed progress on the Bhimnath-Dholera freight railway line, a 192-bed hospital, a K-12 school, a fire station, and residential housing for investors.
A key highlight of the visit was the review of the Tata Electronics semiconductor plant, central to Dholera’s transformation into 'Semicon City'. The state government is actively building a semiconductor ecosystem, drawing both domestic and global players.
Additionally, CM Patel visited the Dholera International Airport site to examine ongoing work on the terminal, cargo building, and runway—part of a ₹1,350 crore project that will bolster connectivity for the industrial hub.
