Uttar Pradesh is advancing plans to position itself as a major digital and AI hub, with proposals to develop eight data centre parks across key cities in the state.
Backed by investment commitments of nearly ₹2 lakh crore, the initiative aims to strengthen digital infrastructure and attract technology-driven industries. The proposed parks will be located in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Agra, and along the Yamuna Expressway region.
The project will focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital services, creating a strong ecosystem for companies in these domains. The state has already made progress in land allocation, with firms like HCL Technologies, Adani Group, and NTT Data showing interest.
To support the energy-intensive nature of data centres, the government plans to ensure a dedicated power supply of around 900 MW, including new substations and transmission infrastructure. The initiative is expected to generate approximately 50,000 direct employment opportunities.
