Scaling Up: Amazon Adds 20 New Fulfilment Centres in India

Amazon is significantly scaling up its fulfilment and delivery infrastructure in India by launching 20 new fulfilment centres. Strategically established in emerging markets such as Raipur, Ranchi, and Varanasi, this expansion extends the company’s logistics footprint well beyond traditional tier-one metropolitan hubs.

Backed by a major infrastructure push, the development increases Amazon’s total storage capacity by 50% to 64 million cubic feet. By moving inventory closer to high-demand regions, the upgraded network is designed to accelerate delivery speeds during the peak festive season. Additionally, the introduction of new sorting facilities and 150 last-mile delivery stations will streamline package transit and deeply anchor Amazon's presence across high-growth tier-two and tier-three cities.
