The Kerala government has granted administrative approval for the construction of a non-Special Economic Zone (non-SEZ) IT building within Phase I of Infopark Kochi.
The proposed facility will span 1.90 lakh sq. ft and be developed on 88 cents of land at an estimated cost of ₹118.33 crore. Funding will be sourced from Infopark’s internal reserves and a bank term loan, according to the Chief Minister’s Office. The project aims to address the current space crunch at Infopark, where over 100 companies are on the waiting list for office space.
In parallel, the state government is advancing plans for Phase III of Infopark, which will be developed as Kerala’s first Integrated AI Township. Spread over 300 acres in Ernakulam, the project will allocate 100 acres for IT development. It is expected to attract investments of around ₹25,000 crore and generate approximately 2 lakh direct jobs.
The development will follow a land pooling model under the Kerala Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act. Landowners with eligible plot sizes can participate, with the requirement that at least 75% provide consent for the final scheme to move forward.
