Quantum AI University: The New Crown Jewel of Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, with a focus on skill development and infrastructure expansion in quantum computing.

A state government official said the agreements are expected to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading Quantum-AI hub through the development of the proposed Quantum Valley in Amaravati.

In a significant step, the government also entered into a partnership with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) to set up a Quantum AI University in the state. The proposed institution is set to become the first deemed university in southern India dedicated exclusively to artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
